Pistol Shooting with Brian Zins of Point Blank Range – Ep. 28

Get ready for yet another TacticalPay radio episode! This week, we’re talking all about pistol shooting. Joining Brett to share his expertise on this is Brian Zins, who is the Director of Training at Point Blank Range, a shooting range located in North Carolina.

Brian Zins is a retired United States Marine Corps Military Police Gunnery Sergeant, and throughout his military career he earned a number of awards including (6) Marine Corps Good Conduct Medals, (5) Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals, (1) Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal and (1) Meritorious Service Medal (which is for members of our Armed Forces who distinguish themselves with outstanding meritorious achievement or service to the country). He’s also a 12x national champion in pistol shooting competition. You may also recognize him from Season 2 of the History Channel shooting competition show Top Shot.

Point Blank Range

Point Blank Range is a state of the art indoor shooting facility offering Professional Instruction and a Firearms Pro Shop. They offer a 25 yard range which has 15 shooting lanes with a state-of-the-art wireless, programmable turning target system operated from a local keypad or by their Range Safety Officer through a master control system. Point Blank Range has two locations in the Greater Charlotte, NC Area… in Mooresville and in Matthews

Point Blank Range takes customer service incredibly seriously, and as such focuses on the comfort, health and safety o all members. With this in mind, they have a custom designed, climate controlled ventilation system that keeps the particulates and gas from discharging firearms moving downrange at all times. HEPA filters keep all re-circulated air as clean as technology will allow. Their range ventilation system is designed to meet all applicable EPA, OSHA and NIOSH air quality standards. In fact, they are the first indoor range to have a climate-controlled ventilation system in Charlotte and the surrounding area.

Bald Eagle’s Rifle Club

The Bald Eagle’s Rifle Club was formed as an association responsible for the promotion of Fullbore Rifle Shooting in the United States, and to support the efforts of the United States Veteran’s Rifle Team in its international competitions.

During the years subsequent to its formation, the BERC has established a club house at the NRA’s Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico, and began the sponsorship of the Spirit of America Match

Each year, they participate in a number of shooting events designed to encourage competition and build community around rifle shooting. They also support the US veterans rifle team in going on trips, offer forums and more for community members to exchange information, gear, and so much more.

Bringing people together around shooting competition is so crucial for community building, and that’s why The Bald Eagle’s Rifle Club is our selection for community organization of the week. Big congrats are due!
