Brett was joined by an expert on this, Matt Disher from the American Guns Podcast (also a member of the Self-Defense Radio Network like TacticalPay Radio). Matt had a tremendous amount of information to share!
Matt is an entrepreneur in addition to being a successful podcast host. He’s also a Christian conservative who loves his wife, his dog, his motorbike, and his firearms. Industry Spotlight
American Guns Podcast
Matt Disher started the American Guns Podcast in November 2017 to push back against uninformed gun control advocates. The show is a weekly take on all the news and issues concerning constitutional rights, legislation, and court decisions related to firearms. Though it’s young (like TacticalPay Radio) it has made a tremendous impact in just 35 (as of this writing) episodes. With frank discussions, unique perspectives, and more, if you’re into firearms, you’d be hard pressed to find a better show to listen to!
TacticalPay Featured Community Organization of The Week
Each week, we select a “TacticalPay Featured Community Organization of the Week” from our listener submissions! Created to showcase a community organization that is doing important on the ground work related to the firearms community, nominees are selected by our listeners from hundreds of local clubs, shooting groups, hunting and wildlife organizations, education and advocacy organizations, and other firearms related community organizations.
We want to hear about organizations that deserve to be recognized, so if you know of a community organization that you believe is doing excellent work on behalf of the broader firearms community that you’d like to see recognized, drop us a line!
We’ve got a great one for you this week!
The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA)
The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association is a legally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering, improving, promoting, and protecting the versatile hunting dog in North America. They endeavor to conserve game by using well trained reliable hunting dogs before and after the shot; and to aid in the prevention of cruelty to animals by discouraging nonselective and uncontrolled breeding, which produces unwanted and uncared for dogs.
They are passionate about serving the interests of game conservation, prevention of cruelty to animals, and the gun dog hunter by helping the hunter to train his dog to work before and after the shot, on land and in water.
NAVHDA is an excellent complement to the activities of sporting dog breed clubs and field trial organizations. It was created to supplement the activities of those clubs by providing a proven, standard method of evaluating the performance of all versatile hunting dogs, consistent with North American hunting practices, regardless of breed.
As such, when it comes to community organizations promoting quality causes and contributing to their local community, you’d be hard pressed to find a better organization. They have chapters all over the continental united states and in canada so they contribute to many local communities. Many congrats to them on their selection!
